Question #318

Is there way to have a text link that I can place in a panel or anywhere else on the page that will open a specific Tab Panel Magic 2 (TPM2) panel?

The Answer

Prepared Aug. 2013 by Gerry Jacobsen, PVII

Tab Panel Magic 2 (TPM2 ) comes with a very handy Dreamweaver Behavior to open a specific panle that you can assign to ordinary links on your page. The links can be anywhere on your page, even inside an TPM2 content panel or other widgets.

You would use the Behavior whenever you want to open a panel from links on the same page. You can apply the Behavior to any text or image link and select the panel to open in the Behavior User Interface.

The User Guide contains a complete detailed discussion on how to use the Behavior.

A typical Open Panel behavior would look like this:

   P7_TPMopenPanel('p7TPM_1',3)

and when applied to a text link, the code for the link would look like this:

<a href="#" onclick="P7_TPMopenPanel('p7TPM_1',3);return false">Open Panel 3</a>

The above will open the third panel.
