Question #308

I'm trying to install my extensions into Dreamweaver CC (Creative Cloud) and it will not install my existing extensions with the .mxp file extension. How can I get the extensions with the new .zxp file extension?

The Answer

Prepared Jul. 2013 by Gerry Jacobsen, PVII

Dreamweaver CC has dropped support for the MXP file format and is requiring the new ZXP file format. To continue to support all Adobe customers, regardless of version, all of our current products include both the classic MXP and the new ZXP versions in product download files.

For all current products: -To get the ZXP installer files you simply need to re-download your product(s) from the PVII Downloads Center

For all older, retired products -You can easily create your own ZXP file from any existing MXP file. Just follow the instruction in the Converting MXP to ZXP File Format tutorial.
