Question #282

My page contains a large amount of page assets, Flash elements and large images that take quite some time to load. Is there a way to initialize the LSM system faster rather than waiting for the page to finish loading all of the page assets?

The Answer

Prepared Jan. 2010 by Gerry Jacobsen, PVII

When using the Lightshow Magic (LSM) system on pages with a lot of large assets the Lightshow Magic system will wait until all of the assets have finished loading. You can get the LSM system to initialize faster by applying this simple tweak:

1. Switch to Code View and scroll down to the end of the page, locate the ending </body> tag:

</body>
</html>

2. A a new line just before the ending </body> tag and Copy & Paste this code block into the new line:

<script type="text/javascript">
  <!--
  P7_LSMinit();
  //-->
</script>

so that it now looks like this:

<script type="text/javascript">
  <!--
  P7_LSMinit();
  //-->
</script>
</body>
</html>

3. Save the page.

That's it, the LSM system will now initialize as soon as the browser displays the page, without waiting for the page assets to finish loading.
