Question #268

I just upgraded to Tree Menu Magic 2, can I upgrade my existing TMM1 menus to TMM2?

The Answer

Prepared Jul. 2009 by Gerry Jacobsen, PVII

There is no automatic conversion from Tree Menu Magic 1 to Tree Menu Magic 2, the underlying (x)html markup, scripts, style sheets and related assets are completely different and cannot be converted. You can continue to use existing TMM1 menus and there is really no reason to replace a functioning TMM 1 menu unless you want to take advantage of some of the newer styles and options offered by TMM2.

To replace an existing TMM1 menu -You should completely remove the menu from the page, choose Commands - Studio VII - Tree Menu Magic by PVII - Remove Tree Menu Magic Menu.... The menu and all of its related assets will be completely removed from your page. Now you can simply Insert a new Tree Menu Magic 2 menu at that insertion point.

TMM1 and TMM2 on the same page -You can add one or more TMM2 menus to a page that contains a TMM1 menu, they will work together on the same page without issue.
