Question #207

Is there a way to have the Slide Show Magic (SSM) system stop when it gets to the last image rather than loop back to the first image?

The Answer

Prepared Apr. 2007 by Gerry Jacobsen, PVII

By default the Slide Show Magic (SSM) system will automatically loop back to the first image after displaying the last image and keep playing the slide show. You can have the Slide Show run only once, stop when it displays the last image in the show, by applying this simple script tweak:

1. In Dreamweaver, open the p7SSMscripts.js file, and locate this code block, it's around line 469:

 if(x<0||x>=p7sstmb.length){
    x=0;
 }

2. Add a new line right aft the x=0; and enter this:

    P7_SSMpause();
    return;

into the new line, it should now look like this:

 if(x<0||x>=p7sstmb.length){
    x=0;
    P7_SSMpause();
    return;
 }

3. Save the file.

That's it. The slide show will now stop once it has played all of the images.

If at a later time you wish to restore back to the default looping behavior you can easily disable this tweak by simply placing two forward slashes just in front of each of the two new lines:

    //P7_SSMpause();
    //return;
