Simply elegant

Viewed from any angle, Typemasters is all about design that is clean, simple, open, airy, and simply elegant. It's also about practicality, usability, and pages that adapt seamlessly to display screens of all sizes.

Adaptable columns and borders

When you view a 4-column Typemasters page with your window width set to 1280 pixels, you'll see all 4 columns arranged horizontally across your screen. If your window is 1024 pixels wide, you'll see 3 columns. And if your window is 800 pixels wide (or less), you'll see 2 columns. Hmm...

Where do the columns go?

The outer columns do not disappear—they simply and seamlessly drop to the bottom of their preceding column. Each column will always have a full-height vertical border. Folks with narrow browser windows will never know what they're missing. In fact, they will not miss a thing.

Color my columns?

Columns cannot be colored individually, but...

Splashes of color can be introduced by wrapping a section of content inside a DIV and coloring that element uniquely—like this one. The included user guide will show you how to complete this simple task.

Drop caps and typefaces

Typographers have been using drop caps since medieval times as a design element. All Typemasters layouts include a CSS rule that you can use to easily turn any character into a drop cap—if that's what you want to do.

Rather than using a standard web font-family, such as Arial, Verdana, or Georgia, we've opted to use a more stylish family of typefaces. Depending on your computer and its configuration, you'll see either Palatino Linotype, Palatino, Baskerville, or Book Antiqua.

Windows systems ship with Palatino Linotype. Macs will have either Palatino Linotype, Palatino, Baskerville, or Book Antiqua.

Accessibility

What's a web page if it's not accessible and usable? Section 508 guidelines are adhered to, giving you a solid base on which you can build in the accessibility features you require, right on up to the highest WAI checkpoints. All content is, of course, always accessible to search engine spiders and the adaptable columns provide a unique level of usability on a wide range of large and small devices.

Automation

Creating a Typemasters page is as simple as choosing the number of columns (2, 3, or 4), what kind of navigation bar you'd like, and then clicking OK. The PVII Page Pack system creates your page instantly.

Is Pop Menu Magic required?

No. If you happen to own Pop Menu Magic, you will have the option to include a PMM navigation bar on your page. If not, the Typemasters Page Pack interface will default to a single level CSS styled navigation bar that looks just like the PMM menu, except it has neither drop down nor fly out sub-menus.
