IE7 Beta 2 CSS Bugs

September -2006

Microsoft has released IE7 Release Candidate 1 . This section will demonstrate some bugs and provide solutions.

Temporary solutions?

It seems apparent now that these CSS rendering bugs will not be fixed for the final release of IE7. The good news is that there are far fewer CSS bugs in IE7 and much better CSS support in general.

Test cases

  1. a:hover not rendered when declared in an imported style sheet
  2. Absolutely positioned elements render incorrect box model
  3. List items containing block links have large vertical gaps

If you'd like to discuss these issues in the PVII community, see our support page for contact detail.

Microsoft says...

The a:hover bug has been fixed in internal builds and will not be an issue in the final version of IE7.
